Our client, a well-established manufacturing business, is recruiting for a hands-on Accountant / Financial Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting and financial control environment. This is an operational accounting role suited to someone who enjoys working closely to the business and is comfortable with getting involved in cashbooks, debtors, creditors, stock, reconciliations, banking and general ledger accounting.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Group CFO and operational teams to ensure that financial information is accurate, complete and properly controlled.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Managing cashbooks, banking transactions and bank reconciliations
Monitoring debtors, credit limits, collections and customer account reconciliations
Overseeing the creditor ledger, supplier reconciliations and payment preparation
Taking responsibility for stock accounting, stock reconciliations and stocktake processes
Assisting with Bills of Materials (BOMs), production variances and inventory controls
Preparing general ledger journals, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end schedules
Monitoring payroll clocking and timekeeping information
Investigating discrepancies, unusual transactions and control weaknesses
Providing accurate financial information and reconciliations to the Group CFO
Working closely with production, stores, procurement and other operational teams
REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant Accounting degree or Diploma
Approximately 3–5 years’ relevant accounting experience
Experience across debtors, creditors, cashbooks and bank reconciliations
Experience with stock or inventory accounting
Strong general ledger and reconciliation experience
Experience with an ERP or integrated accounting system
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and Pivot Tables
Experience with preparing or loading supplier payments
Strong attention to detail and an investigative approach to discrepancies
Comfortable with working in a hands-on, operational environment

Stocktakes and stock reconciliations
Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Raw material and finished goods accounting
Cost or manufacturing accounting
CGIC or trade credit insurance
Payroll clocking / time and attendance systems
