Job Overview
Our client is looking for a Cost Controller to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning for costs, cost estimating, budget development and control, cost projecting, analysis, and reporting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Cost Control Process:
Costing Coordination & Control Services – managing the costing processes and inputs at various stages, to enable cost optimization and control
Directing and guiding managers/executives in the effective analysis and management of costs
Directing, guiding and coordinating costing and information development processes and appropriate systems with the Financial Manager and other analytical functions notably in Sales, Supply Chain Production & Quality
ERP System Administration:
Extracting / preparing costing data (financial and operational) from the ERP system (Business Central) to be used for reporting purposes
Assessing the need for and managing estimated financial costs and / or operational hours for scenario planning purposes
Creating / reviewing, recommending, and implementing the internal controls needed for accurate costing data accumulation and reporting and conducting related internal audits if required
Data Analysis:
Assessing accuracy, integrity, and reasonability of costing data
Considering and addressing concepts inherent to activity-based costing
Evaluating changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost and ultimately, selling price
Estimating Costs:
Maintaining the costing model
Overseeing the standard costs and bills of material
Reviewing and recommending cost saving initiatives
Resource Planning and Budgeting:
Participating in budget preparation
System administrator, report writing and ad-hoc support
Performing budgeting tasks as required from time to time
Controlling all cost received
Producing a Cost budget in coordination with the different Departmental Managers and Finance Manager
Adhoc:
Supporting ad hoc procurement request performing vendors cost analysis and informing main relevant points for negotiation
All Ad hoc requests from the MD
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting or equivalent
Minimum 4 years’ experience working in Cost control
Experience in Project Management
Advanced Excel Skills
Strong grasp of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and PowerPoint
