Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for an energetic, dynamic Financial Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall financial accounting function in the organisation. Responsibilities will include Financial Reporting, Statutory Accounts, Tax Affairs, Company Secretarial, Legal and Treasury.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Management of General Ledger Accounts:

Ensuring all accounts are reviewed and reconciled on a timely basis.

Putting in place appropriate internal controls to ensure accurate accounts

Ensuring accounting procedures comply with Group Accounting Policies and International Accounting Standards

Reviewing and maintaining accounting procedures and processes

Business Controlling:

Leading the annual budgeting and rolling forecasting activities

Partnering with HR, Field, Marketing and Operations functions to ensure that the budget is prepared in consideration of all function requirements

Managing and overseeing the month end financial closing process

Analysing the variances vs. the budget on a monthly basis

Proactively identifying possible action to improve profitability

Participating in the monthly Business Review and updates for Corporate

Supervise business case/feasibility studies on new businesses and partnerships

Month End Financial Reporting:

Reporting Group monthly financial results

Improving the automation of the financial reporting

Monitoring performance of results vs. budget and forecast

Quarterly and Annual Reports:

Planning, controlling, and completing Quarterly and Full Year reporting processes, including co-ordinating internal and external auditors (interim and final audit)

Statutory Accounts & Tax:

Preparing statutory financial reports in line with regulatory requirements

Preparing supporting schedules for tax returns

Acting as Public Officer for statutory entities

Managing relationship with Corporate Tax

Compliance & Internal Control:

Liaising with internal and external auditors

Legal:

Managing the relationship with external legal counsel in areas of contract, intellectual property, etc.

Being the caretaker of all Company policy relating to financial controls, procurement, etc.

Company Secretarial:

Managing the relationship with external secretarial consultants to ensure statutory filings are up to date for all legal entities

Maintaining Company authority structure

Maintaining master agreement files and sensitive Company documents

Supporting Company Directors to ensure compliance with fiduciary obligations

Managing relationship with Corporate Affairs

Treasury:

Maintaining external banking relationships

Overseeing the management of Treasury Group borrowings and liquidity

Responsible for cash flow forecasting

Managing relationship with Corporate Treasury

REQUIREMENTS:

CA (SA) qualification

Must have successfully operated in a quality business for 8+ years post professional qualification

Leadership – proven track record of effective management of a Finance team

Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a key influencer

Strategic thinking ability

SAP and HFM experience will be advantageous

Working knowledge of IFRS
