Our client is looking for a Financial Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operational Executive and will be responsible for driving financial and business performance, mitigating risk and pursuing commercial opportunities.
You will lead a team and be responsible for the financial reporting and management of a subset of entities within the Group. This includes budgeting, forecasting, benchmarking and performance review, risk management, procurement and financial process reviews, training and continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Implementing and executing the operational financial framework:
Implementing and aligning the operational financial management approaches to Group financial strategy
Implementing and enforcing standard operating procedures and internal controls
Managing the operational finance structure and delivery
Budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis:
Reviewing strategy and structure to provide correct guidance on budget inputs
Liaising and consulting with divisions to provide budget guidelines
Reviewing budget proposals to confirm adherence to guidelines
Advising on budget inputs as aligned to requirements
Analysing budget and advising of changes
Providing detailed support in the preparation of the budget
Managing changes on budget throughout the process
Reviewing margins and variances compared to prior budgets to provide guidance
Presenting budgets to centralised office budget team for review and approval
Communicating and submitting final budget to divisions
Monitoring actuals versus budget monthly
Reporting on deviations to budgets and advising on possible corrective actions
Preparing annual forecasts per division
Regular revisions of forecasts
Preparing feasibilities and viabilities to consider and evaluate business plans and proposals
Staff Management:
Recruitment and selection of new staff
Mentoring and management of team
Developing staff
Managing staff retention
Performance measurement and staff appraisals
Managing disciplinary issues, including interactions with other functional leaders
Approving and reviewing leave and resources
Managing and remediation of absenteeism
Management Reports:
Reviewing management reports monthly and adding commentary with actions and follow-up
Conducting variance analysis on management reports and addressing any concerns
Providing feedback on financial status of entities and performance relative to business plans to business executive/CEO
Compiling executive committee and Board reports with comprehensive financial analyses
Financial guidance and support:
Providing financial guidance at start of planning cycle
Ensuring internal controls and standard operating procedures are implemented and adhered to
Providing general financial support and guidance
Accounts payable and receivable management:
Managing debt collection efforts and providing feedback on performances of each entity
Reviewing and approving all monthly municipal account statements and implementing corrective actions on issues
Audit:
Assisting with internal and external audit queries
Ad hoc investigations and reviews of process compliance
Other:
General financial and related projects such as capital planning, due-diligence investigations of potential acquisitions, capacity analysis, cost saving and procurement strategies, etc.
Reviewing all executive head salary increases, 13th cheque and incentive bonus payments
Strategic modelling to determine the outlook of business units and divisions
REQUIREMENTS:
CIMA/B.Com (Hons) with a proven academic track record
More than three years’ experience as financial leader in a large business, preferably with multiple branches and/or operations
Experience in managing staff and strong communication skills
Demonstrate commercial ability and experience
Driver’s license
Experience on Dynamics NAV and/or Dynamics D365 (advantage)
Experience in TM1 (advantage)
