Our client, a leader in their field, is recruiting for an Junior Accountant to join their team.

Reporting to the Financial Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for completing the bookkeeping, clerical and accounting tasks for a company.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Financial Management:

Monitoring and reviewing day-to-day accounting systems/transactions (General Ledger, Creditors, Intercompany, Inventory and Cost of Sales)

Preparing accurate monthly detailed analysis for other cost of sales with full comparison to prior year, budget/forecast

Complete and accurate processing in General Ledger (via journals)

Compiling accurate and complete General Ledger reconciliations

Reviewing Accounts Payable age analysis and ensuring all suppliers are paid on time

Managing relationship with Group Financial Shared Services

Responsible for year-end preparation and year-end Audit deliverables

Intercompany Reconciliations:

Intercompany reporting on a monthly basis

Accurate reconciliation of intercompany suppliers and loan accounts

Reviewing and signing intercompany confirmations once they are accurately compiled

Preparing intercompany schedules for submissions to Group

Reporting:

Compiling monthly reports and detailed analysis for:

Other cost of sales including recommendations for corrective actions where required

Compiling reports and feedback obtained for:

Reviewing and providing feedback Purchase Orders not approved and not receipted

Reviewing and providing feedback on FSSC query list

Reviewing and providing feedback on GRIR 90 days

Reviewing and providing feedback on Accounts Payable (aged items less than 90 days)

Compiling monthly management accounts and management packs

Internal Controls:

Ensuring compliance with finance internal control processes and perform JSE control testing procedures

Improving procurement behaviour and compliance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

B.Com (Accounting) Degree or equivalent

Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a FMCG environment

SAP experience essential (FI, CO, MM & PS)

Computer literate (Excel – Advanced)
