Our client, a leader in their industry, is recruiting for a dynamic and experienced Operational Head: Production to lead and oversee their diverse production environments. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational and financial acumen, exceptional people management skills, and a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and implementing an integrated strategy for the factory Group, focusing on sustainable growth, profitability and operational excellence
- Managing the performance of all manufacturing units against budgets, turnover, and profit targets
- Analysing financial statements, identifying trends and providing meaningful commentary and recommendations
- Leading the annual business planning process and driving execution throughout the financial year
- Ensuring optimal production processes, cost management and capacity utilisation across all factories
- Driving continuous improvement, innovation and product development across all divisions
- Building and developing high-performing teams while fostering a healthy and productive workplace culture
- Collaborating closely with technical, logistics and commercial teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Ensuring compliance with quality assurance and food safety standards
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5–8 years’ relevant experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or production management, with part of this experience at senior management level
- A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Engineering, Production Management or a related field
- Strong technical background in manufacturing and production processes
- Proven experience in strategic planning and implementation
- Strong financial insight and a sound understanding of financial management and management accounting, with the ability to analyse financial statements and drive business decisions
- Experience in multi-site or multi-department management will be advantageous
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage complex operational challenges
- Must be fully bilingual in both English and Afrikaans
