Our client, a well-established company in the Construction industry, is recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team.
Reporting to the CFO and Managing Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of the business through effective financial reporting, statutory compliance, cash flow management and financial administration. This role offers broad exposure across multiple entities and is suited to a hands-on finance professional who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
Managing cash flow, banking activities and payment processes
Overseeing debtors, creditors and account reconciliations
Processing journals and maintaining general ledger integrity
Ensuring compliance with VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL and other statutory requirements
Managing payroll administration and salary reconciliations
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
Coordinating annual audits and resolving audit queries
Managing fixed assets, inventory and intercompany transactions
Liaising with SARS, banks, auditors and other external stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
B.Com Accounting / Bachelor of Accounting Degree
CIMA qualification or registration advantageous
Minimum 3 years’ post-articles experience
Construction industry experience essential
Strong understanding of financial reporting, taxation and statutory compliance
Experience preparing management accounts and financial analysis
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Experience working on Xero Accounting
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
